AI Disclosure
Last updated: August 27, 2026
This page says plainly where artificial intelligence is and is not used in EPA Compliance Plus.
The short version
No AI decides whether you are compliant.
Your inspection schedule comes from your separator manufacturer's operating manual, transcribed by
a person and reviewed before it is used. A person performs each inspection and attests to it. The
system records what that person reported. Nothing is inferred, and nothing is certified.
Where AI may assist
- Identifying equipment from a nameplate photo. If you photograph a separator's
label, AI may suggest a likely make and model. That suggestion is a starting point for a person to
confirm — it never activates a schedule on its own.
- Reading documents. AI may extract dates, model numbers, or facility names from
a service document or manual you upload, to save retyping. Extracted values are shown to you before
they are used.
- Sorting uploads into the right record category.
- Photo quality checks — flagging an image as too dark or blurred to be useful.
This is a comment on the photograph, never on the equipment.
What AI is never used for
- Determining whether a practice complies with 40 CFR Part 441, or any other regulation.
- Deciding from a photograph whether a separator is functioning properly.
- Setting or changing an inspection schedule. Cadence comes from a manufacturer rule that a
Bio-Pure compliance administrator has verified against the actual manual and signed off. If we
have no verified rule for your model, you get no schedule and we tell you so — we do not
guess.
- Altering a submitted record. Records are immutable; corrections are recorded as amendments that
preserve the original.
- Making any decision without a person able to review it.
Why we draw the line here
A compliance record is evidence. Its value comes from being a truthful account of what a named
person observed at a recorded time — not from a model's opinion. An "AI-verified" record would be
worth less, not more, precisely because nobody could say who stood in front of the equipment.
Your data and AI
We do not use your compliance records or photographs to train general-purpose AI models. Where a
feature above sends content to a processor, it is under contract to use it only to provide that
service to us. See our Privacy Policy.
